In 2024, the Town of Salisbury is undertaking a number of capital projects. For the latest updates, please refer to this webpage. Prior to commencement of construction, hand-delivered notices are provided to properties in the immediate vicinity of the project site(s).

During capital projects, residents can experience additional noise, traffic, and related disruptions. The Town appreciates the patience of residents as we undertake these exciting projects this year.

Highland Park Amphitheatre

This Summer, the Town of Salisbury is constructing an amphitheatre at Highland Park and installing underground electrical in the upper-level of the Park. During construction, residents can anticipate closures of a portion, and at times all, of the upper level of the Park.

Anticipated completion date:  October 31, 2024

Latest update:  Crews are mobilizing to begin construction on July 2, 2024. The immediate construction site will be fenced off and closed. The Wetland Trail and portions of the upper-level of the park will not be affected for this current phase of the project. The playground, splashpad, and washroom remain open during this phase.

Bleakney Road Resurfacing

The Town of Salisbury is re-surfacing approximately 130 metres of Bleakney Road from the intersection of Briarcroft/Bleakney to the existing portion of road that had been re-surfaced.

Route 106 (Main Street) between Fredericton Road and 3251 Main Street

Under the Provincial-Municipal Highways Program (PMHP), the Town of Salisbury is re-surfacing approximately 1.25kilometres of Route 106 (Main Street). This project will consist of a mill-and-pave. Traffic delays can be expected during construction.

Curb rehabilitation has taken place along certain areas along Main Street as part of this project. Mobilization for the mill and pave will begin on or around August 5, 2024.

Salisbury Fire Rescue Station

In the Summer of 2024, the Town of Salisbury will be commencing construction on a new Salisbury Fire Rescue Station on Main Street. This project will be a net-zero ready building, intended to serve the current and future needs of the Salisbury Fire Rescue Station.

Latest update:  The successful proponent, Maxim Construction, is beginning to mobilize for the project.

Braemar to Parkin Street Trail Construction

The Town of Salisbury will be extending the current trail network with the addition of a trail between Highland Park (via Braemar Drive) to Parkin Street. This trail will include benches, waste receptacles, and will have a grade of 5% or less, making it accessible.
