2026 Resident Survey

The Town of Salisbury has engaged Narrative Research to conduct a Town-wide Resident Survey! We want your input to shape the future priorities of the Town.

Between now and March 12, keep an eye on your mailbox for your survey access code. The access codes will be mailed on a postcard with one access code per household. These codes ensure the integrity of the survey, and are anonymous.

For more questions on the survey, please refer to the information below.

FAQs:

Why is the Town of Salisbury having a Resident Survey?

The Resident Survey is designed to gather your input on key areas that shape the future of our community. Your feedback will help the Town of Salisbury understand resident priorities, preferences, and satisfaction with municipal services. The insights collected will guide multi-year strategic planning, business planning, and budgeting, supporting decisions that aim to reflect the community’s overall needs and aspirations.

Who is eligible to participate in the Resident Survey?

Each household in the Town of Salisbury will receive a survey card with a random, unique Survey Access Code. Only one survey may be completed per household, using that access code. One member of the household should complete the survey on behalf of the household.

When will the survey be open and for how long?

The 2026 Town of Salisbury Resident Survey will be open until March 12, 2026. During this time, residents will have the opportunity to complete the confidential survey online (using a secure web-based platform). If needed, residents may also complete the survey using a paper format – please call Narrative Research at 1-888-854-6555. If you call, please leave your name and street address and a copy of the survey packet will be mailed to you.

Is the survey online or paper-based?

There are two ways households can complete the confidential survey:

1. Online

This is the quickest way to complete and submit the survey. Each household in the Town of Salisbury will receive a survey card via Canada Post with a random, unique Survey Access Code allowing you to participate in the survey. You can then access the survey through the listed secure URL/website (2026SalisburySurvey.ca) or via the survey’s QR code. You may complete the survey questionnaire using any device with internet access. You will also have the option to complete a prize draw ballot (which is separate from the survey questionnaire) by clicking “Yes” when asked if you wish to be included in the prize draw.

Important: If you are unable to complete your online survey in one sitting, you can finish it later by clicking the “Finish Later” button found on each online survey screen. You will then be required to visit the survey URL/website (2026SalisburySurvey.ca) and use your same unique access code to continue where you left off. Please note your survey cannot be edited or revisited after you press the “Submit” button at the end of the survey.

2. Paper survey

Residents who would prefer to fill out a paper copy of the survey can do so. To receive a paper survey package (which includes the survey questionnaire, an optional prize draw ballot, and a prepaid return envelope), please call Narrative Research at 1-888-854-6555. If you call outside of business hours, please leave your name and street address and a copy of the survey packet will be mailed to you. The unique access code printed on your survey card delivered by Canada Post, must be printed on your paper survey as indicated.

To maintain confidentiality, the completed paper survey and ballot for those wishing to enter the prize draw must be placed in the prepaid return envelope. To return the survey please mail it directly to Narrative Research, postmarked by no later than March 12, 2026. The envelope can be dropped into any Canada Post mailbox or at a postal outlet.

I am a resident of Salisbury, and I did not receive a Survey Access Card. What do I do?

If your household did not receive a Survey Access Card one member of your household can request an access card by emailing surveys@narrativeresearch.ca or calling 1-888-854-6555. Please note that each household, not each individual resident, receives one survey card, and only one survey may be completed per household.

I lost my Survey Access Card. What can I do?

It is very important that you do not lose your Survey Access Card, as a replacement cannot be provided.

Are accommodations available to help me complete my survey?

In addition to online and paper surveys, a limited number of telephone surveys will be made available to residents with accessibility concerns (for example, vision limitations, etc.). If you would benefit from a telephone survey, please email surveys@narrativeresearch.ca or call 1-888-854-6555. Please leave a message with your contact information and a representative of Narrative Research will connect with you to conduct the survey over the telephone.

How long will it take to fill out the online survey?

The online survey should take between 15 and 20 minutes to complete.

Is the survey mandatory?

Completion of the survey is not mandatory. However, all households are encouraged to fill out the survey. The Resident Survey is designed to gather your input on key topics that shape the future of the Town of Salisbury, and your feedback will help the Town understand resident priorities, preferences, and satisfaction with municipal services.

Do I have to fill out all the questions?

Please do your best to complete the entire survey. However, your input is still important even if all the questions are not filled out.

Are my responses anonymous?

Yes. Resident confidentiality is of utmost importance to the Town of Salisbury and the reason we use an external survey provider that follows strict security and anonymity practices. The online survey is completed through a fully secure web-based portal provided by Narrative Research. Paper-based copies, once complete, are to be sealed in a prepaid, pre-addressed return envelope and mailed directly to Narrative Research.

Will Narrative Research share my responses with the Town of Salisbury?

Narrative Research is an Accredited Agency member of the Canadian Research Insights Council (CRIC), which is the governing body that sets standards for the research industry in Canada. Their ethical standards and code of conduct prevent the company from identifying or attempting to identify or isolate any individual or small group of individuals in the data analysis phase of the study.

How will the self-identification information be used in the analysis and sharing of results?

The information collected in the self-identification section will not be shared in any way that could identify specific residents.

When and how will the survey results be shared with the Town of Salisbury?

Narrative Research will begin to analyze the submitted data as soon as the survey closes, and will prepare a summary of the survey results that the Town of Salisbury will publish on its website in the Summer of 2026.

Where can I go and who can I talk to for more information about the survey?

Electronic resources, including Frequently Asked Questions, are available at https://salisburynb.ca/2026-Resident-Survey. Our vendor partner, Narrative Research is also available to answer your questions and provide technical support. Please email surveys@narrativeresearch.ca or call 1-888-854-6555.

How can I be entered to win one of the prizes?

To be entered to win the grand prize of a YETI branded cooler (valued at $425 dollars) or one of five $50 gift cards to local restaurants, you must complete and submit your survey.

If you submit your completed survey online, you will be re-directed away from the survey to a webpage with a ballot form. The ballot form must be filled out and submitted. The ballot form is NOT connected to the survey. If you submit a paper survey, you can enter with the paper ballot included in your survey package. To ensure anonymity, prize ballots returned with paper surveys will be immediately separated by Narrative Research prior to data entry. The draw will take place no more than two weeks after the survey data collection has closed.

Please be advised that participating in the prize-giveaway draws is optional and will be managed by Narrative Research to maintain participant confidentiality. Winners will be notified by Narrative Research and the names of winners will not be announced publicly, unless permission to do so is granted by the winners. Prizes will be sent to winners by the Town of Salisbury.

I do not live in the Town of Salisbury and I got a postcard with an access code. Why is that? Do I fill out the survey?

Access codes are sent via Canada Post Neighborhood Mail, unaddressed to all households in the Town. In order to reach all households, the Town must use Canada Post mailing routes, some of which are within two municipal boundaries. Some recipients of the postcards may therefore not be within the Town of Salisbury. If you do not live within the Town, please disregard the Survey Access Code and postcard that you received.

I decided to not finish my survey. Will my answers from the questions I completed be tabulated?

If a resident completes at least one-half of the survey, their answers will be included in the final survey data. If such a resident later decides they do not wish for their survey data to be included, please call 1-888-854-6555 and leave your request in a message, citing your Survey Access Code number.
