Repairs will Result in Temporary Closure of Main St. at Bridge Location

Mid-morning on Wednesday, May 31, the New Brunswick Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DTI) will close the temporary bridge on Main Street (Route 106) in Salisbury for a portion of the day while repairing the approaches to the span.

Beginning at 9:00am, DTI will pave the approaches on each end of the temporary bridge that crosses McNaughton Brook in the area of Main Street between Parkin Street and Larsen Lane.

This will result in motorists having to take a different route around the worksite for a few hours during the paving. Drivers are encouraged to detour around using Lower Mountain Road, Homestead Road, and Fredericton Road.

Any complaints about this situation should continue to be directed to DTI via transportnb@gnb.ca or 1-833-384-4111. Meantime, the Town is awaiting details from DTI on plans for a permanent culvert replacement at this location to replace the culvert that was irreparably compromised by storm-erosion in January, 2023.
