Residents are advised that starting today (September 20, 2023), construction will begin on a new ADA-compliant (wheelchair accessible) four-season washroom facility at Highland Park.

The construction area between the new washrooms and the wells will remain taped off for the duration of construction. This means that throughout construction, certain trails in the upper level of the park are closed. The Wetland Trail remains accessible from the upper level via the outer-perimeter of the trails, as shown in the graphic below. The playground will also remain open.

The washroom will be an 18 foot by 14.5 foot ICF building with two washrooms, one of which will be fully accessible. This will replace the former washroom building, provide an accessible facility with additional amenities (such as changing tables), and ensure that the splashpad well is not required to feed washroom facilities, too.

The project is expected to be completed in late 2023. The Town appreciates the cooperation and understanding of residents as we undertake this long-awaited project.
