The following represents a summary of the decisions from the Regular Council Meeting held by Salisbury Town Council on August 11, 2025. These represent highlights, and are not formal council minutes, which are posted upon approval at a future Council meeting:
Consent Agenda:
Council’s approval of the Consent Agenda covered:
- July Development and Building Permit Report from Southeast Regional Service Commission/Plan 360, which includes a permit to the Government of Canada for a new institutional building on Silver Fox Drive;
- Salisbury infographic from the Southeast Regional Service Commission 2024 Annual Report;
- Letter from Elections NB acknowledging the vacancy in Salisbury Ward 4, also confirming the seat will remain vacant until the May 26 municipal election.
Reports from Administration:
- Council did not approve a grant request for $12,143.83 to help build a wheelchair ramp at a private residence.
- While the request was for $1,000, Council instead approved a grant of $500 to the Eagles Soccer Club for equipment costs.
- Council voted to provide feedback to the Province’s two draft regulations with regards to municipal fiscal reform.
Closed Session:
Council discussed eight items that were in Closed Session based on Sections 68(1)(c), 68(1)(d), 68(1)(e), and 68(1)(j) of the Local Governance Act.

The next meeting of Council will be held on September 8 at 7:00 PM at Salisbury Town Hall. The next edition of Council Highlights will be posted shortly after this meeting.
