The following represents a summary of decisions from the Regular Council Meeting held by Salisbury Town Council on Monday, January 12, 2026. These represent highlights, and are not formal council minutes, which are posted upon approval at a future Regular Council Meeting:
Consent Agenda
After adopting the Minutes of Council’s Regular and Special meetings held in December, Council approved a Consent Agenda that included the monthly Planning and Development Report from Plan360 covering November 2025 activity in the Town of Salisbury.
Public Presentation
Susan Linkletter joined the meeting for a presentation on behalf of the Salisbury Farmers and Artisans Market, the collective at the big red barn on Main being a Salisbury multi-grant applicant. She was pleased to report to Council that the Market budget was “in the black” at the completion of its last full fiscal year.
Reports from Administration
Salisbury CAO Austin Henderson provided updates on a pair of files, with Council giving the nod for Administration to continue working with Narrative Research on an upcoming survey of all households in the Town, intended to help Council with its strategic planning. Council also gave its approval in principle to a document that establishes measurable Levels of Service, a tool to be used to communicate municipal services to both the public and to Council during annual budget deliberations.
Closed Session
Council went into Closed Session in order to discuss a matter of a financial nature and another with regards to land, protected under Sections 68(1)(c) and (d), respectively, of the New Brunswick Local Governance Act.
Resolutions
Council then closed its first public session of the new year by ratifying renewed reciprocal agreements with the Anglophone East School District and the Salisbury/Petitcodiac Baseball Association, as well passing a motion cancelling the Council meetings scheduled in the month leading up to the May 11 Municipal Election.
Next Meeting
Council will next sit on January 26th at 6:oo PM for its monthly Committee of the Whole meeting. The next Regular Council Meeting will be held on February 9th at 7:00 PM. The next edition of Council Highlights will be posted after that February meeting.
