The New Brunswick Department of Transportation and Infrastructure has made the decision to CLOSE Route 106, Main Street, in Salisbury at the location of the culvert for McNaughton Brook between Larsen Lane and Parkin Street.

This is due to the rapidly eroding roadbed at that location following another weekend of significant rainfall and snow-melt.

The decision to fully close the road until further notice was made January 3 following an NBDTI site inspection.

Detour signs and related messaging for motorists are being posted.

The affected section had already been reduced to one-lane of controlled traffic back on December 2.

The public’s understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated.
