The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DTI) will be closing Route 106 (Main Street) to permit the replacement of the WM-32 Culvert between Parkin Street and Larsen Lane starting Tuesday, June 3. The road closure will remain in place until the project is complete, expected to be July 28, 2025.
During the closure, residents are advised of the following:
- The official detour is via Upper Mountain Road, Homestead Road, and Fredericton Road (Route 112) in both directions.
- Questions on the project should be forwarded to DTI via phone at 1-833-384-4111 or via email at transportnb@gnb.ca.
- The Town has been in communication with both Justice & Public Safety, as well as the RCMP, to request increased patrols to ensure that both commercial and local traffic are abiding by the official detour. In addition, the Town will be installing temporary speed bumps and speed radar signs on adjacent local roads.
