10am–2pm – Seniors Day – FREE! The Royal Canadian Legion Br. 31 in partnership with the Salisbury Community Days Committee will start serving coffee, tea and homemade doughnuts at 10am.  At noon there will be soup, sandwiches and cookies available for lunch.  This is open to all seniors!!  There will be takeout and delivery options as well.  Please call Ada @ 372-5759 to pre-register.  There will be lots of games and Bingo after lunch.  Special thanks to Salisbury Pharmacy who will be sponsoring all bingo prizes, games and door prizes for this event.

6–8pm – Painting Party with Arrow Amor Join Sarah and Mitl of Arrow Amor at Salisbury Baptist Church as they host a painting party.  In order to have enough supplies and spacing, you are asked to please register by calling 372-3230 or email loriepaterson@salisburynb.ca.  Payment is also due prior to the event.  There is limited spacing, and only 30 people will be able to be accommodated, so do not hesitate to call or email to pay and register!  FEE: $20 per person.

*** POSTPONED DUE TO WET WEATHER CONDITIONS (New date to be announced)  8:30pm – Movie Night at Highland Park, featuring: “The Bad Guys” – Special thanks to CIBC for sponsoring the movie.  Movie Night will be hosted by the Department of Recreation and Wellness.  The movie will begin at dusk (around 8:30).  Free popcorn, snacks and drinks will be available, so don’t forget to bring a cup.  Also bring chairs or blankets to get comfortable! ***

All Week – Take Away Craft Don’t forget to stop into Salisbury Public Library and pick up your take home craft. This year’s craft is “My Salisbury Summer 2022” — be an author! This week, stop by the Salisbury Public Library for supplies to create your own book!  Choose from a variety of pictures that you can colour to illustrate your story.  What will you write about?

10am–2pm – Kids & Family Day – Join the Salisbury Boys & Girls Club at Highland Park for a fun-filled day of games, crafts and BBQ!

Noon – Deadline for Colouring Contest * Pick up a colouring contest page at the Village Office at 56 Douglas, on the Village of Salisbury website, or on the Salisbury Celebrates Community Days 2022 Facebook event page. Submissions must be received prior to 12pm, August 19thWIN PRIZES!

Noon – Deadline for Photo Contest Submit your favourite photos from the past 12 months.  Classes are: 1) Scenes from Salisbury, 2) Nature, 3) Pets.  One entry per class per person.  Email entries to salisburystudentkate@gmail.com by 12pm, August 19thWIN PRIZES!

4:30–6:30pm – Chicken Salad DinnerJoin Recreation and Wellness staff for a fundraising take-out dinner.  Price is $10 per ticket.  Tickets can be purchased through Rec and Wellness at 62 Douglas Street or at the Village Office at 56 Douglas.

6pm – Chili Cookoff Brought back by popular demand is the famous Chili Cookoff!  Rules are available at the Village Office.  There is no entry fee.  Let’s see who will claim the title of “Best chili in Salisbury!”  Cash prizes to be won.

7–8pm – BBQ Make sure to stop at the BBQ in the parking lot at the Village Office for a hot dog. It’s FREE!

7–8pm – Lawn Tractor Races Also back by popular demand are the lawn tractor races!  Come put your mower to the test and see whose lawn tractor is the best.  Don’t have your own mower?  We will have one available to use.  Rules and regulations are available at the Village Office.  Please call or stop in at the Village Office to register.  There is no registration fee.

8pm – Winners announced at the Village Office for the Chili Cookoff and Lawn Tractor Races.

8–10pm – Live Music & Beer Garden – There will be a beer garden in the basketball court (19+ only, ID required).  Beer and coolers will be available for $5 each.  All proceeds from this event will be donated to Salisbury Helping Hands.  We will also have “Pier 19” performing live!  Come on out and listen to some great music!

7–10am – Lions Club Pancake Breakfast – Stop in and fuel up for the day at the Salisbury Lions Club with their famous pancakes & sausage breakfast.  Dine In or Take Out.  Cost: Under 6 Free, Ages 6-10 $5, Adult $10

8amNoonVillage-Wide Yard Sales Find that special treasure!  Anyone holding a yard sale should contact the Village Office prior to Wednesday August 17th so it can be added to the yard sale list/map to be made available at the Village Office.  Register at 372-3230 or loriepaterson@salisburynb.ca.

10am – Pickleball Tournament This will take place at the outdoor courts across from Rec and Wellness.  Email Donna at assistant.director@salisburynb,ca to register.  Spots are limited!

11am – Parade Line-Up / Elementary School Parking Lot All entries must register and be lined up before 11am.  Register by calling 372-3230 or email loriepaterson@salisburynb.ca.

Noon – Parade (Regular Parade Route) (Rain or Shine) – Please note, for safety reasons, through-traffic on Main Street and River Road will be stopped for the length of the parade.  Parade organizers ask that candy NOT be thrown from floats in order to avoid possible injury to children.  Individuals may walk beside floats and hand out treats.  Musical entrants are encouraged.  All rules for motorized vehicles must be abided by.  THERE WILL BE NO TOLERANCE FOR RECKLESS DRIVING.

1–4pm – Market & Food Court * – Businesses, groups, organizations or individuals are welcome to run stands to sell products (baking, crafts, vegetables, BBQ, etc).  Contact the Village Office to register (at no charge)!
Food Vendors On Site *Confirmed: Horsman’s BBQ, Crossroads Pentecostal Church, Tacos Dorados Sinaloa Style, Taylor Made Fudge and Eva’s Specialty Lemonade.

12:30–2:30pm – Free Swim At Salisbury Lions Pool, come for a free swim!  Everyone welcome!

10pm – Fireworks Community Days will wrap up this year with a grand fireworks show on Saturday evening at the baseball fields off Douglas Street. Parking is at the schools or municipal building while space is available.  Access will be restricted beyond the parking lot entrance to the soccer field. The municipality has received special authorization for this event, which will be conducted responsibly by licensed fireworks technicians and also involve the participation of Salisbury Fire Rescue both during the event and after. Following the required consent of the Fire Chief, additional approval by municipal Council was granted by motion on August 9, with insurance inquiries also made. Residents are reminded that fireworks, otherwise, remain prohibited as stated in By-Law No. 22, Prevention of Accidents from Sundry Causes (Section 2.(a)).

PLEASE NOTE:
All events followed by * will take place at or near the Salisbury Municipal Building, 56 Douglas Street.
ON SATURDAY THERE WILL BE NO THROUGH-TRAFFIC ON DOUGLAS ST. FROM 1PM-5PM.  The high school parking lot will be available and after 1pm.  Parking will also be available at Salisbury Elementary School.  Saturday afternoon’s event schedule is based on the parade finishing at 1pm.  Because of this, times are subject to change according to the length of the parade.
