Following the recent Committee of the Whole meeting, Salisbury Town Council is initiating a public consultation process to consider regulating all-terrain vehicles (ATV) on some streets within the Town. We want to hear from you!
Residents may recall that this process began in 2022, but was paused in light of local governance reform. To reflect the changed municipal landscape, the public consultation process is being re-initiated.
Additional information is now available on a webpage on the Town’s website HERE.
Residents are encouraged to review the webpage and provide written input to the Town no later than November 7, 2023 by emailing clerk@salisburynb.ca. The Town will also be hosting a drop-in style open house on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 6pm-8pm. Representatives of the Town, QuadNB, and the Department of Justice and Public Safety will be in attendance to provide additional information and answer questions from residents and stakeholders.
Readings of the by-law are expected to occur at Town Council meetings in October and November. Summary information of all public input received will be presented to Town Council during these meetings as the consultation process unfolds. Changes and amendments to the by-law can occur all the way until third reading and enactment of the by-law.
As a reminder, until such a time where the by-law is in place and approved by the Province, it remains illegal to operate an all-terrain vehicle on the streets of the Town of Salisbury.
