Salisbury Town Council has passed a motion to fly the Pride Flag in front of the municipal building at 56 Douglas Street.
The decision, which was made at the meeting of Council held June 12, 2023, was in response to public requests that the municipality recognize June as Pride Month in this manner.
Going forward, the Town will develop a Flag Policy which may involve the installation of a special events/acknowledgments flag pole.
The first Pride Flag was designed and flown in 1978 and has become an international symbol of 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion, unity, and diversity.
