It was in 1980 that Terry Fox ran his Marathon of Hope to raise money for cancer research.
Forty-four years later, his legacy continues with the annual Terry Fox Run held in communities all across Canada.
The Salisbury Department of Recreation and Wellness held its Terry Fox Run on Sunday, Sept. 15, raising $187.50 in on-site donations and another $815 online through https://terryfox.org/ways-to-give/.
Meantime, Salisbury Elementary School and Salisbury Regional School held their Terry Fox events on Tuesday, Sept. 17, raising another $200 toward the Salisbury effort.
